Quartzite

Quartzite is a metamorphic stone formed when quartz-rich sandstone has been exposed to high temperatures and pressures that effectively fuse the quartz grains together. The main component is quartz, one of the hardest minerals on earth. The varieties of colour arise from impurities mixed in during the formation process.

Quartzite is suitable for both indoor and outdoor projects, especially quartzite benchtops. They offer the distinctive look of marble with the benefit of having the strength and resilience of granite, thereby making it an ideal kitchen bench-top material.
